Great Plains College is a regional college in western Saskatchewan, Canada, part of the province's regional college system. Its campuses are in Kindersley, Swift Current and Warman, with further programmes in Biggar, Maple Creek and Martensville. It offers post-secondary certificates, diplomas and degree programmes, university courses, safety training, adult basic education and English language training.

The college is a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) approved by Saskatchewan's Ministry of Advanced Education, so it can admit international students. Its offer for international students consists of certificate and diploma options; the international page currently lists the Continuing Care Assistant certificate, available at the Kindersley, Swift Current and Warman campuses, and the college also has an award for international students in the Early Childhood Education diploma. English is the language of instruction and examination, and classes are small.

In Swift Current the college is opening a new student residence on Sidney Street East, with 12 single bedrooms and shared kitchen, living and study spaces; the first residents were expected in fall 2026.

Admission Requirements

International applicants apply with the college's international application form for an eligible programme (currently the Continuing Care Assistant certificate) and should first check the programme's admission prerequisites and the English language proficiency requirements. Applicants whose first language is not English, or whose country is not exempt, must prove their English skills. Fees paid from abroad are accepted only through Flywire, and students cannot attend until all fees are paid.

Financial Aid

The International Student Award consists of two awards of $2,000 a year (one at Swift Current, one at Warman) for international students entering the second year of the Early Childhood Education diploma. Applications are scored on first-year grades, attendance and community involvement; the 2027 application deadline is 15 June 2027.

Housing

The college's new student residence in Swift Current is on Sidney Street East, a short distance from campus. It has 12 furnished single bedrooms (Twin XL bed, desk, chair, dresser and wardrobe) with shared kitchen, living and study spaces; there is no meal plan. Students must be accepted or conditionally accepted to a programme before applying, and full-time students have priority. For 2026 the priority application deadline was 22 June 2026; rent is $700 per month including utilities and Wi-Fi, plus a damage deposit of one month's rent.
