Medicine Hat College (MHC) is a college serving the communities of southeastern Alberta, Canada, with campuses in Medicine Hat and Brooks. It offers more than 40 certificate, diploma, degree, trades, apprenticeship and university transfer programmes, and according to the college welcomes over 2,000 students from Canada and around the world.
Programmes include, for example:
- Business Administration diploma with majors in accounting, marketing, management and financial services
- Administrative Office Professional certificate
- Engineering Design and Architectural Technology diploma
- Health and community services such as Addictions Counselling, Health Care Aide and Practical Nurse
- University transfer in arts, commerce, kinesiology, science and social work
- Degrees such as the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences - Paramedic, and the Mount Royal University Bachelor of Education
- Academic upgrading, trades and continuing studies
International students are welcome in many programmes; where applications exceed the seats reserved for international students, admission is competitive. Applications go through Apply Alberta, followed by official transcripts, a letter of acceptance and a registration deposit. Students can live in fully furnished residence units on the Medicine Hat and Brooks campuses.

Mature students (21 or older) and transfer students have their own routes. Some programmes are in demand or competitive, and international admission may be competitive when applications exceed the seats available for international students.
International application deadlines: Winter 2027 (January) intake - applications opened 1 June 2026 and closed 1 October 2026; Spring 2027 (May/June) intake - applications open 4 August 2026 and close 1 February 2027. Where international applications exceed available seats, admission may be competitive and decisions may take longer.
MHC has fully furnished residence units on its Medicine Hat and Brooks campuses, with a range of amenities. Summer residence and information on off-campus housing are also available.
