Okanagan College (OC) is a college in the Okanagan region of British Columbia, Canada, governed like all colleges in the province by the College and Institute Act of British Columbia. It has campuses in Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and Salmon Arm, and also teaches online. According to the college, more than 15,900 students attend OC each year and the average class size is 18 students.
Programmes are hands-on and taught by instructors with industry experience, in areas such as:
- Arts and science
- Business and entrepreneurship (Hall School of Business)
- Health and social development
- Technology
- Skilled trades and apprenticeship
Individual credit courses can also be taken through Open Studies without applying to a full programme. International students apply online through EducationPlannerBC for certificate, diploma and degree programmes; some programmes are eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Applicants must normally be 18 or turn 18 in their first semester and show English proficiency with tests such as Duolingo, IELTS, TOEFL, CAEL or PTE. Campus housing is available in Kelowna, Vernon and Salmon Arm, and a new building opened in Penticton in September 2026; international students have priority access. International students (studying on a study permit) apply online through EducationPlannerBC for certificate, diploma and degree programmes. The application fee is CA$100 per programme, non-refundable and payable by credit card. Before applying, check which programmes are open to international students and the admission requirements of the chosen programme, plus the additional English and country requirements. Required documents, in English or officially translated:
- All secondary school transcripts
- English language test results
- All post-secondary transcripts, degrees, diplomas or certificates
- A copy of a valid passport
Applicants must be 18 or turn 18 in their first semester; 17-year-olds may be admitted with completed BC Grade 12 (or equivalent) and a guardian, or for summer session only.
International applicants must meet the English requirements of their programme and submit English test results with the application. Accepted tests include Duolingo, IELTS, TOEFL, CAEL and PTE, among others.
- Fall 2026: classes start the week of 7 September 2026; fee payment deadline 25 August 2026, 4 p.m.
- Winter 2027: classes start 11 January 2027; fee payment deadline 15 December 2026, 4 p.m.
Okanagan College has campus housing in Kelowna, Vernon and Salmon Arm, and a new housing building opened at the Penticton campus in September 2026. Options include furnished single studios with kitchenette and private washroom, and shared apartments; all utilities, including internet, are included, and there is no meal plan. Full-time students are eligible, and international students have priority access. Students under 18 must live with an approved host family; the homestay programme places students in homes normally within 30 minutes of campus by bus. Off-campus rentals are another option.
