Early application is recommended, as high-volume programmes may close early; late applications are considered if space is available.
Applicants must meet TRU's minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry into academic programmes. Students who do not yet meet them can start with English for Academic Purposes (EAP), which takes 4 to 18 months depending on placement and starts in September, January and May; many programmes offer EAP upgrading.

TRU World lists further awards for international students, including the Jorge Campos Award, Social Media Ambassador Awards, scholarships for US citizens and for residents of the Bahamas and the Caribbean, international athletic scholarships and engineering scholarships.
