University College of the North (UCN) is a post-secondary institution in Northern Manitoba, Canada, established under the University College of the North Act to serve the educational needs of Indigenous and northern Manitobans. Its main campuses are in The Pas, about 600 km north of Winnipeg, and Thompson, about 800 km north of Winnipeg, and programmes are also offered in communities such as Flin Flon, Norway House and Swan River. More than 70% of the local population is Indigenous, and Indigenous perspectives run through many programmes.

UCN combines college and university studies, with small classes taught face to face and online:

  • Certificates and diplomas in IT, health care, business, early childhood education and skilled trades, some lasting as little as five months
  • Bachelor's degrees in three to five years, including arts, business administration, education (Kenanow Bachelor of Education) and a Bachelor in Ininimowin (Cree language)
  • Transfer options with partner universities, adult learning and upgrading

Teaching is in English, and international applicants need, for example, IELTS 6.5 overall. They must have their previous studies evaluated by World Education Services (WES) and apply by 1 April for the fall term. International students cannot receive UCN or Manitoba loans and bursaries. Student residences are available in Thompson, The Pas and Flin Flon, with family housing on both main campuses.
