Humanitarian Shelter and Settlement, is a Master level short course offered by Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona and certified by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). This course includes theoretical and practical information, which provides students with the necessary skills to lead and organise Shelter Clusters on the field, in the setting of a Natural Disaster. The short course teaches students to anticipate and give a high-quality humanitarian shelter response. With an overview on Shelter Relief Programmes, it prepares students and covers the assessment and evaluation, plan of action, logistics and the settlement options, including low technologies applied to shelter and architectural design. Students will also be given practical knowledge on designing shelter in recovery programmes.
