Pacifica Graduate Institute is an accredited graduate school in Carpinteria, California, in the United States, a few miles south of Santa Barbara. It traces its origins to 1976 and settled on its Lambert Road property in Carpinteria in 1989. It is institutionally accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) and approved by the State of California Board of Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). It has two campuses: Lambert Road in Carpinteria and Ladera Lane in Santa Barbara.
Its master's and doctoral programmes are rooted in the traditions of depth psychology and cover:
- Counseling and clinical psychology
- Depth psychology, including Jungian and archetypal studies
- Mythology and religious studies
- Psychology, religion and consciousness
- Community, liberation, indigenous and eco-psychologies
Programmes are taught in low-residency, hybrid or online formats; accommodation and meals are provided during residential sessions. Applicants apply online, pay an application fee and submit transcripts, a recommendation, a writing sample, a personal statement and a resume, followed by an interview. A peer mentorship programme pairs first-year students with more advanced students.

Accepted applicants confirm their place with a non-refundable US$175 deposit. Up to 16 quarter units of transfer credit may be accepted.
Pacifica offers institutional scholarships, most of them for newly admitted students in a specific programme, with average awards of US$2,000-3,000 and renewal subject to grade requirements. Examples are the Founders scholarship for M.A. Counseling Psychology students (four awards of US$4,000), an Educational Assistance award of US$1,000 for financial hardship, and the CLIE Matching Grant of up to US$12,500 a year. The school also takes part in the Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows, Segal AmeriCorps and Yellow Ribbon (veterans) programmes. US citizens and permanent residents can apply for federal aid through the FAFSA.
