The Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) is a public French-language university founded on 19 March 1969 in Trois-Rivières, a city of 135,000 people halfway between Montreal and Québec City. Besides its main campus in Trois-Rivières, it has campuses in Drummondville, Québec City, L'Assomption, Terrebonne, Joliette and Longueuil.
UQTR offers certificates, short programmes, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in eight fields of study:

- Social sciences and intervention
The university has 55 accredited research units and a research budget of nearly 30 million Canadian dollars, and offers the Universalis causa scholarship programme to recruit students for research-based master's and doctoral programmes. International students apply online through an admission account; a French test may be required, and once admitted they complete their immigration steps before registering. Housing options include on-campus residences and several partner residences in Trois-Rivières.
