Cégep Limoilou is a French-language college (cégep) in Quebec City, Canada, with about 5,500 students and more than 40 DEC (Diplôme d'études collégiales) programmes. Teaching takes place on the Limoilou and Charlesbourg campuses and at a fine crafts campus (campus des métiers d'art) with associated craft schools.
Its main areas are engineering and technology, arts, business administration, health, and tourism, hospitality and catering. Programme types:
- Pre-university DEC: 2 years, preparing for university studies
- Technical DEC: 3 years, leading to employment or university
- Fine crafts DEC: 3 years (ceramics, sculpture, textiles, cabinetmaking, jewellery, violin and guitar making)
- AEC (Attestation d'études collégiales): short technical programmes of 4 to 24 months
Most technical programmes include two to three work placements (Alternance travail-études). International students apply through the international office: an interest form, a presentation video, a French language test and the admission application. The college then issues the letters needed for the Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and the study permit, and holds welcome workshops for international students one week before classes. The sports programme has 17 teams in 7 sports.
