The Fundación Ortega-Marañón (FOM) is a non-profit foundation in Madrid devoted to culture, education and research in the social sciences, humanities and health sciences. It was formed in 2010 by the merger of the José Ortega y Gasset Foundation (1978) and the Gregorio Marañón Foundation (1988), and it publishes the Revista de Occidente, founded by Ortega y Gasset in 1923.

Its main teaching activities are:

  • Postgraduate programmes at the Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega-Marañón, affiliated to the Universidad Complutense de Madrid since 1986
  • University study abroad programmes for international students
  • Training courses for teachers of Spanish, with the Instituto Cervantes
  • Instituto Cervantes exams

The foundation also carries out applied research, consultancy and development cooperation projects, and organises lectures, round tables, book presentations and exhibitions. Its headquarters at Fortuny 53, in central Madrid, occupy two listed buildings that once housed the Residencia de Señoritas. Postgraduate teaching takes place at its Colegiata 9 site in Madrid. In Toledo, a restored 16th-century Mudéjar convent near the cathedral serves as a student residence and hosts courses and activities for international students.
