The Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) is a university founded in 1969 in Chicoutimi, Saguenay, in the French-speaking Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec. It belongs to the Université du Québec network. Besides the main campus at 555 boulevard de l'Université, it runs a university studies centre in Sept-Îles, study centres serving Alma and Saint-Félicien, and the École des arts numériques, de l'animation et du design (NAD) in Montreal, which trains students in 3D animation, visual effects, design and digital arts.

UQAC has more than 6,500 students each year, over 2,000 of them international students from about 50 countries, and offers more than 200 study programmes, from undergraduate to graduate level, as well as continuing education and training through the Nikanite First Nations Centre. Study areas range from nature and technology to health and society and culture.

The admission process includes French language proficiency requirements and immigration steps for international applicants. The Bureau de l'international recruits international students, manages incoming and outgoing exchanges and works with 282 partner universities.
