English is one of the world's foremost languages. Therefore, it is important students learn it as early as possible. The Postgraduate Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at UIC Barcelona, which is taught in English, will train students to incorporate English into their teaching and develop their level of English proficiency on a personal and professional level. The program involves: Understanding the main procedural approaches to multi-linguicism and additional language attainment; Understanding the cognitive and meta-cognitive methods that affect additional language attainment; Acquiring insight into and investigating the methodological approaches to integrating foreign languages and content (CLIL); To improve knowledge in phonetics concentrating on different accents and how to work pronunciation in class; Developing the cross-cultural skills required; Studying and integrating culture into foreign-language teaching; Planning teaching materials that promote foreign-language acquisition; Understanding the processes involved in growing reading comprehension skills; and Improving the tactics for developing and enhancing teachers' English-language proficiency.
